How to Succeed

I watched this YouTube clip this morning, and it struck me how she set up her mind when she was in a field.

Danielle Kang, an LPGA player, explains how she takes a mindset in the field.

The situation is like this. She hit a ball, and it remains 190 yards, while the competitor has only 160 yards to the green. This is the final round, and if she misses a hit, she might lose the game with 10 million dollars. Now, the interviewer asks what she is thinking in such a situation.

She said, “Okay, I already won. The rest of the thinking process is how I can achieve the result I already won.”

That’s so a fantastic, excellent, and confident mindset. If I were her, I might be under tremendous stress, and I would fill my mind if I missed this hit or fail what I should do. She, however, is different. She thought the game was in her own hand. Believing in herself is the key to success. Yes, she might miss a hit, but she said it does not matter to her because she already won the game in her mindset, and standing on the field makes her happy already. The past is the past.
