No gratitude for 100% Free?

It got me thinking about why we don’t usually appreciate things that are 100% free.

For example, we enjoy the Earth, soil, air, water, and the rest of nature 100% for free. We never pay for them, and if they are manipulated by humans, we have to pay for them. If we want to get water to drink, we have to buy a bottle of water because someone worked to make it, even though the water itself is 100% free.

But most people don’t feel grateful for something 100% free, so maybe religion was created to have gratitude for that.

Another thought that comes to mind is that kids get everything their parents give them for 100% free, but they don’t easily feel gratitude unless their parents keep reminding them. If they have to pay for something every day, and then one day they get it all for free, they might be grateful to their parents.

Anyway, it’s a day to consider gratitude for 100% free.
